OUTDATED SYSTEM

Our customer, a nationwide distribution centre, managing over 230 stores, was looking for a solution to improve the functionality of their recycling system.

Our customer was using a conveyor system with their RamPack Fully Automatic Baler to bale their stores waste cardboard and plastic packaging.

Due to ever increasing material volumes and changes to their handling and sorting processes, their old system was no longer working efficiently for their site.

They were reporting problems with their sorting conveyor constantly suffering back logs of built-up material and added concerns over health and safety for operators having to manually lift and empty large dumpy bags of cardboard & plastics onto the raised conveyor bed, as well as excessive learning to sort materials.

OUR SOLUTION

After a full site assessment and review of their processing procedures, we designed, delivered and installed a bespoke conveyor system

The new design allows loading of the cardboard and plastics from ground level, rising up to a sorting conveyor station, ergonomically designed to improve the operators working environment and streamlining the picking and sorting of material.

THE RESULTS

Since installation of the new conveyor system, our customer has reported a throughput increase of 2 tonne per hour and an improvement in bale quality.

Not only have they seen their throughout productivity increase by 100%, they have also saved 20 man hours in labour per day.

This investment has greatly improved the entire recycling process on site, not only in the bale production speed and quality, but also the reassurance that they are improving their staffs working environment.
