Team Spotlight: Meet Shar, One of Mardon’s Longest Serving Team Members
This month we are shining the spotlight on Shar, one of our longest serving team members with over 12 years at Mardon. As our Integrated Systems Manager, Shar covers everything from Health and Safety and HR to payroll, vehicle maintenance and IT.
Every day looks different for Shar, and she handles all of it with the same dedication and commitment. We are so grateful to have her on the team. 🙌
Tell us about yourself:
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role at Mardon Recycling?
I tend to work behind the scenes in the day to day running of Mardon. I focus on the areas that most people don’t see but keeps everything running smoothly in the background. Health and Safety, HR, payroll, vehicle maintenance, IT……every day varies.
What drew you to work in recycling and sustainability?
I’ve always been passionate about sustainability and the environment. I try my hardest in my personal life to make a difference and I feel like working at Mardon enhances that, where it’s not just what I can do, but what I can help others do as well. Â
What is your favourite RamPack baler in our range?
Probably the RP200 Multi Chamber. I just like the fact that you can easily deal with more than one waste stream at once.Â
What does a typical day look like for you here?
Most of my days are spent keeping on top of things behind the scenes, whether it be dealing with insurance renewals, arranging employee training, or reviewing RAMS with our engineers, no two days are the same.
How would you describe the team culture at Mardon?
We have a good group of people here at Mardon and everyone genuinely cares about doing a good job and giving the best service we can.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love being at home, cooking, baking and gardening. We’re also incredibly lucky with where we live and I love spending time at the local beaches with my family.
