At Mardon, we’re proud to have a team of dedicated individuals who each play a vital role in keeping our customers’ recycling operations running efficiently. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Aaron Stone, one of the faces behind the Mardon field team.
Aaron has been with Mardon for a year and a half, but he’s worked alongside the business for many years before that. He’s up at 5am, on site early and someone who takes real pride in his work and always goes the extra mile, the kind of engineer customers know they can rely on.
Tell us about yourself:
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role at Mardon Recycling?
Hi, my name is Aaron, good looking, Stone and I am 41 years young! I have been with Mardon for a year and a half, although I have worked alongside Mardon for many years before that. My role is to maintain the running of Mardon equipment and our customers’ equipment, and to get things fixed when they break down. I also do my part to push the company forward in any way I can.
What drew you to work in recycling and sustainability?
I actually came over to Mardon when Paul Donegal joined the business, and I haven’t looked back since! 😄
What does a typical day look like for you here?
The alarm goes off at 5am and I’m out the door by half 6. I always like to arrive on site early (the early bird gets the worm!) I get my jobs done, take a good number of calls from Linda throughout the day 😄, then head home to spend time with the wife and kids, have my tea and recharge for the next day.
How would you describe the team culture at Mardon?
Mardon is a family, not just a business. We all look out for each other and pull together when it’s needed. For me personally, giving 100% every day isn’t just about my own sense of achievement. I genuinely want to help make the company stronger. That matters to me a lot.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love watching my lad play football and I’m a passionate carp fisherman, although I’ll admit I don’t catch a great deal more than Paul Donegal! 😄 Spending time with my girls is really important to me too.
