In this Team Spotlight, we’re introducing Robert Hardingham, our Field Service Engineer. Rob travels to customer sites to carry out maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on recycling machinery, keeping operations running smoothly. With a strong technical background and a hands-on approach, he’s a trusted point of contact for customers across the country and a valued member of the Mardon team.

How long have you been with Mardon Recycling?
2 years, 1 month.
Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role at Mardon Recycling?
I travel to multiple sites carrying out both scheduled inspections and breakdown callouts. The work varies day to day, covering electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues, so no two jobs are ever quite the same. Alongside the hands on work, I deal with customers directly on site and over the phone, making sure they’re kept informed and that we get their machinery back up and running as quickly as possible.
What drew you to work in recycling and sustainability?
Over the years I’ve worked on many different types of recycling machinery, which keeps the role varied and interesting, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy.
What is your favourite RamPack baler in our range?
Every one of them, they’re all quality machines! Each baler has its own strengths and they’re all built to a high standard, so it’s impossible to pick just one.
What does a typical day look like for you here?
Every day is different, from tablet based training to servicing machines and responding to breakdowns. Each job brings something new, so there’s always something to learn.
How would you describe the team culture at Mardon?
Great team both on the road and in the office, everyone is always helpful and supportive, which makes a real difference when you’re out on the road day to day.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spending time with my kids and family is what I enjoy most outside of work. I also get out fishing on the odd occasion when time allows!
